Available is a stunning handcrafted Ash & Axe knife with a 40mm detail blade

Blade: 40mm Micro sloyd blade shaped and sharpened by Dave Cockcroft using the Hewn and Hone small knife jig. Made from bearing steel, forged and heat treated by Nic Westermann.  The bevels are symmetrical and flat with an edge angle of 30 degrees, which keeps the bevel narrow and the blade as stiff. This blade has a narrow bevels and is designed for carving delicate details and tight concave curves.

The blade is just 40mm long and though it has a sharp point it is recommended you do not use this to drill or pry, just for cutting in line with the blade.

Handle- The handle starts with a piece of English 5000 year old bog oak from Lincolnshire then a solid handle made from oak recovered from the recent roof restoration project at Oxborough Hall in Norfolk

Sheath- The knife comes with two sheaths. The first sheath is a slip on blade protector hand crafted from thick shoulder of leather in a warm walnut colour and stitched by hand using a tan coloured thread.

The main sheath is designed so that the knife and knife plus blade protecting sheath will fit inside the main sheath. This sheath is also crafted by hand from walnut coloured leather and stitched with a tan waxed thread. The sheath also comes with a fixed belt dangler handstitched in matching leather.

To help keep your handle in good condition the knife includes a tin of Ash & Axe organic Cambridge beeswax and Norfolk Linseed oil wax.
