Available is a stunning handcrafted Ash & Axe knife and wood blank set
Blade 1: The Compund curve spoon knife is handforged by Richard Weaver from 1095 tool steel and hardened / tempered to 55-60hrc. These are hollow forged and sharpened.
Blade 2: 40mm Micro sloyd blade shaped and sharpened by Dave Cockcroft using the Hewn and Hone small knife jig. Made from bearing steel, forged and heat treated by Nic Westermann. The bevels are symmetrical and flat with an edge angle of 30 degrees, which keeps the bevel narrow and the blade as stiff. This blade has a narrow bevels and is designed for carving delicate details and tight concave curves. The blade is just 40mm long and though it has a sharp point it is recommended you do not use this to drill or pry, just for cutting in line with the blade.
Handles- The handles are crafted from stunning spalted beech from a ancient tree in Cambridgeshire. The micro sloyd also has a piece of 5000 year old Lincolnshire bog oak as trim.
Wood blanks: The bundle contains x12 wood blanks including English walnut, ash, spalted holm oak, beech, spalted beech and elm
To help keep your handles in good condition the knife includes a tin of Ash & Axe organic Cambridge beeswax and Norfolk Linseed oil wax.
