Ash + Axe has created a range of forestwear inspired by the ancient folklore, including this handcrafted spalted beech and silver nugget pendant.
 
Silver has been long believed to give the wearer protection, whilst the beech tree is a symbol for the written word and the innate wisdom contained within. The tree is associated with the gods of wisdom and intellect, and the wood and leaves of the beech tree would be carried as a talisman to increase creative powers. Carving the words into a beech stick is said to make a wish come true.
