Available is a stunning 40mm curvy carving knife made from old oak from the roof restoration at Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk

Blade: O2 carbon steel
Hardness: 60hrc ±1
Blade length: 40mm
Blade thickness: 2,5mm
Handle: The handle is crafted from a stunning piece of oak reclaimed from the rood restoration at Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk. The oak would have already been over 100 years old when felled to make the roof timbers back in Elizabethan times. Other trim includes jet black East Anglian fens bog oak. Radio carbon dating has shown these ancient giant oaks to be around 3300BC. Other layers include English yew from Suffolk
Leather: The knife is being sold with a handstitched leather slip. The leather is vegetable tanned so no nasty chemicals used in the process
