Available is a stunning 40mm carving knife made from 5000 year old English bog oak
 
Blade: The blade has been designed by Ash & Axe and handforged across the pond in the USA by an experienced bladesmith from 01 tool steel and is 40mm long
 
Handle: The handle is crafted from a stunning piece of 5000 year old bog oak from the Lincolnshire fens.
 
The bog oak has been dug up from the Lincolnshire fens and carefully air dried then kiln dried before being quarter sawn to give a beautifully contrasting pattern.
 
Radio carbon dating has shown these ancient giant oaks to be around 3300BC.
 
There is an additional slice of English splated beech from an ancient tree .to break up and add contrast to the bog oak
 
The handle has a piece of brass tubing inserted and a 1.5m length of handcut shoulder of veg tanned leather thonging included
 
Leather: The knife is being sold as knife only but a handstitched leather blade slip or sheath is available as an option or contact me for further sheath options.
 
To help keep your handle in good condition the knife includes a tin of Ash & Axe organic Cambridge beeswax and tung oil/ Linseed oil wax.
