Available is a stunning 64mm carving knife made 5000 year old bog oak
Blade: Forged by Maihkel Eklund in Sweden from carbon steel UHB20C including Etsat hunting motif 64 x 18 x 3.4 mm
Maihkels blades come with a secondary micro bevel to protect the blae edge
Handle: The handle is crafted from a stunning piece of English cherry
Additional trim includes jet black East Anglian fens bog oak. Radio carbon dating has shown these ancient giant oaks to be around 3300BC. Other layers include spalted beech from Thetford Forest and two layers of yellow boxwood
In the rear of the handle I have inserted a disc of 8000 year old mammoth tusk. Cut from the outer bark of the tusk
Leather: The knife is being sold with a handstitched leather slip. The leather is vegetable tanned so no nasty chemicals used in the process
