Available is a palm handled English yew carver with 40mm blade
 
Blade: Micro sloyd blade intended for finishing cuts and detail carving, shaped and sharpened using the Hewn and Hone small knife jig. 
 
Made from bearing steel, forged and heat treated by Nic Westermann.  The bevels are symmetrical and flat with an edge angle of 30 degrees, which keeps the bevel narrow and the blade as stiff. This blade has a narrow bevels and is designed for carving delicate details and tight concave curves.
 
The blade is just 40mm long and though it has a sharp point it is recommended you do not use this to drill or pry, just for cutting in line with the blade.
 
Handle: The handle is crafted from stunning yew burr from the Suffolk/Norfolk border. The wood contains a myriad of colours from reds to pink and oranges.
 
Sheath: The knife is being sold with a handstitched leather blade slip or a sheath is available as an option or contact me for further sheath options.
 
To help keep your handle in good condition the knife includes a tin of Ash & Axe organic Cambridge beeswax and tung oil/ Linseed oil wax.
