Available is a stunning old oak knife set

Handle: The handle is crafted from a stunning piece of English oak rescued from the ring wall garden restoration at Wandlebury Country Park in Cambridge. The oak doors and frames required replacing and the oak was salvaged. The doors were in place for hundreds of years and the oak has taken on a beautiful warm colour. 

 

To finish the knife off there is 5000 year old bog oak and ancient yew burr.

 

Leather: The knife is being sold with a handstitched leather sheath. The leather is a thick full grain shoulder in a dark tan colour and is stitched by hand using a saddle stitch with a thick tan waxed thread.

 

The sheath has included a cast in England brass "D" ring so the sheath can be work with a belt or attached to a belt dangler.

 

Also included is a handstitched leather blade slip which in conjunction with the brass lanyard loop in the handle and added leather cord can be used as a neck knife.

 

To help keep your handle in good condition the knife includes a tin of Ash & Axe organic Cambridge beeswax and tung/linseed oil wax.
