Available is a stunning 35mm carving knife made from stunning spalted beech
 
Blade: The blade has been designed by Ash & Axe and handforged across the pond in the USA by an experienced bladesmith from 01 tool steel and is 35mm long with a scandi grind
 
Handle: The handle is crafted from a gorgeous piece of spalted beech. The spalting process has created beautifully fine black lines throughout the timber. The beech is from a branch that came off a large veteran tree in Thetford Forest.
 
There is an additional contrasting piece of english elm as trim
 
I have intentionally left the handle un-waxed but a tin of wax is included with the knife so the user can decide. Wax has a tendancy to darken beechwood handles so it is user choice. A photo above shows an offcut with half waxed and half un-waxed to gove you an idea of the difference.
 
Leather: The knife is being sold as knife only but a handstitched leather blade slip or sheath is available as an option
 
To help keep your handle in good condition the knife includes a tin of Ash & Axe organic Cambridge beeswax and tung oil/ Linseed oil wax.
